Accommodation in Breda

Find your accomodation in Breda

Avans University of Applied Sciences does not own student accommodation. Instead, we have partnered with the two major housing associations in Breda and introduced an accommodation reservation website.

Furnished student rooms

What you need to know about these rooms:

  • All rooms are fully furnished.
  • You will share accommodation with other international students, usually Avans students. You have a private badroom. Kitchen, bathroom and toilet are shared.
  • Rental prices range from €450 to €750 per month. This includes water, electricity, gas and internet access.
  • Rent needs to be paid per full semester at once when you sign the rental agreement. This will be approximately 5 months (approx. €3500).
  • Rental contracts cannot be terminated before the set enddate.
  • Rental contracts cannot be extended. After a rental period you must leave the room for a new international student.

Your eligibility

A limited number of furnished student rooms are available for international Avans students. You can book a furnished room when:

  • You are a first year student at Avans. These rooms are offered to first-year students only, to help them commence their studies.
  • You have been selected for housing by the coordinator of your study programme. The email address for your Avans school is listed below. Note that being selected does not necessarily guarantee you a furnished room.
  • You will be following one of the programmes mentioned below.

How to apply

If you want to apply for a room, please send an email to your school’s contact:

Receiving login details & booking the room

If you have been selected (by the programme coordinator) you will receive an email from International Office mid-June, or mid-November for summer semester.

On the first Monday of July, or December for summer semester, you will receive an (automatically generated) email from the booking system containing instructions on how to log on and how to book accommodation. Using the instructions in this email you will be able to log into the booking system, see the available rooms and book a room.

Once booked you will have 48 hours to make the payment. After these 48 hours you will lose your booking and the room will be available for other students again on the website.

Terms and conditions

  • Bachelor/Master students: the tenancy period will be 1 academic year.
  • Exchange students studying at Avans for 1 semester: the tenancy period will be that semester.
  • Exchange students studying at Avans for 2 semesters: renting for a full academic year will only be possible when you are officially accepted for both exchange programmes when booking the room in July. Both exchange programmes must also be offered by the same Avans academy.
  • The tenancy period is not flexible: Your rental agreement will start in the introduction week and has a set – unnegotiable – end date. It is not possible to terminate the contract before the end date.
